How to Renew Your Domain

Modified on: Fri, 22 Aug, 2025 at 3:16 PM

Keeping your domain renewed ensures that you maintain ownership and avoid service interruptions. This guide will walk you through how to renew your domain with Unstoppable Domains, as well as explain what happens if your domain has already expired.

Renewal Grace Periods

  • Grace Period (40 days): After your domain expires, you have 40 days to renew or transfer it out before it moves into redemption.

  • Redemption Period: If your domain is not renewed during the grace period, it will enter the redemption period. During this time, you cannot renew directly through your account. Instead, you will need to email support@unstoppabledomains.com for assistance.

How to Renew Your Domain

To renew your domain, follow these steps:

  1. Go to My Domains in your Unstoppable Domains account.

  2. Click on the domain you wish to renew.

  3. In the left-hand menu under Manage, click Auto-Renewal.

  4. Click the Renew Now button.

You’ll be taken to your cart where you can complete your payment. On this page, you also have the option to increase the renewal term beyond one year if you’d like to extend your domain’s registration further.

Avoiding Expiration with Auto-Renewal

To ensure you never lose your domain, we recommend turning on auto-renewal. With auto-renew enabled, your domain will renew automatically before it expires, as long as you have a valid payment method on file.
