You purchased a web2 (.com) domain with us here at Unstoppable Domains and set up your Lite wallet already, but you are not looking to use a wallet to manage your domain records. No problem! There is a way to make this happen.
In order to no longer use your wallet to manage your web2 (.com) domain going forward, you will have to first detokenize your domain. This will require you to use your Lite wallet just this once. However, once you detokenize and sign, you will not have to use this wallet again to manage your .com domain in any way if you do not want to. If you never set a designated minting wallet for your domain, your domain is claimed to your Lite wallet provided by us.
Please note: If you do not set up your Lite wallet after checkout, you do not need to go through the detokenization process outlined below. You will already be able to update your .com domain's records without needing to sign by default. This process only needs to be followed if you set up your Lite Wallet and your domain was placed here after checkout.
How to Detokenize Your .com Domain
To detokenize your domain, please sign into your UD account on our main site (unstoppabledomains.com). Then go to My Domains and select "Manage" next to your .com domain. On the left, you will need to go to the "Tokenization" tab. Please select the "Detokenize" option.
You will be asked to sign with your Lite wallet to confirm this change. When the page with all the wallet options pop up, you will need to select the "WalletConnect" option to sign.
Please Note: You will need to make sure you have signed into your Lite wallet within your UD app on your mobile device. You will need to sign with your wallet using the app. We are working on releasing a Lite Wallet browser extension so you would not have to use your mobile device in the future, but this has not been released yet.
How to Add Your LIte Wallet to your Mobile Device:
If you are (re)downloading our app for the first time you can simply select "Add Existing Wallet" and then "Import Unstoppable Lite Wallet" where you will then be prompted to sign in with your Lite wallet. You will be prompted to enter your one-time code sent to your email associated with your Lite Wallet. Once entered it should take a few moments to configure and then will be ready to use.
If you already have our UD app downloaded, but need to import the Lite wallet, please go to the gear icon towards the top left of the app to go to Settings. Under the profile section, you should see a "Add +". Please select this and then "Import Unstoppable Lite Wallet" and sign in. You will be prompted to enter your one-time code sent to your email associated with your Lite Wallet. Once entered it should take a few moments to configure and then will be ready to use.
Now you can use your phone to scan the QR code that pops up on our main UD site after selecting WalletConnect to sign the transaction to detokenize your domain.
On your mobile device, you should see an icon with 4 rounded squares with one of them looking like part of a QR code in the top right corner while on the home tab within the UD app. Please select this and scan the QR code on the main site prompted by WalletConnect. Then, confirm the on-screen prompts on your mobile device to sign with your Lite wallet.
Once you sign, it should take a few minutes to confirm the change. Now you can add DNS records without using a wallet to sign. Have further questions? Contact us at support@unstoppabledomains.com and we will gladly assist!
