Agents can run in two places: locally on your own machine, or on the Unstoppable agent cloud. This article covers the difference and how the cloud account fits in.
Local vs. cloud
- Local — agents run on your machine, using its resources. This is the default and works well for most work.
- Cloud — agents run on the Unstoppable agent cloud instead, so work can keep going without tying up your machine — useful when you want a lot running at once or work to continue while you're away.
The Unstoppable Code Cloud account
Running in the cloud is backed by a first-party Unstoppable Code Cloud account, which you connect under Settings → Accounts (alongside your Claude, Codex, GitHub, and Linear accounts). The same account also powers sharing and remote access.
