Connecting your tools lets the assistant take action in the apps you already use — not just give advice about them. Link an app like Slack or Linear, and the assistant can work where you do. This article covers what connecting adds and how to set it up.
What connecting adds
On its own, the assistant can draft, research, and plan. Once you connect a tool, it can also act in that tool — for example, post to a Slack channel or create and update issues in Linear — as part of getting your work done. You stay in control: the assistant does this within a chat, where you can see what it's doing.
Add a connection
Open the project's settings and go to the Plugins tab. From there you add the plugins and app connections you want available in that project. Connections are set per project, so each project only has the tools its work actually needs.
Use it in a chat
Once a tool is connected, just ask for what you want in plain language — "post this summary to the team channel," "open an issue for this bug." The assistant uses the connected tool to carry it out, and shows you the result in the chat.
