Create your first project

Modified on: Tue, 21 Jul, 2026 at 1:41 PM

A project is a container for related work in Unstoppable Cowork — a campaign, a customer, or a report you're putting together. The assistant keeps each project's context, so you're not starting from scratch every time. This article walks through creating your first project and starting a chat. You don't need to write code or touch a terminal.

1. Create a project

From the Cowork side of the app, create a new project and give it a name that describes the work — for example, "Q3 launch" or "Acme account." Everything you do next lives inside this project.

2. Set instructions (optional)

In the project's settings, under Instructions, you can add standing guidance the assistant should always follow for this project — your tone, who the audience is, or facts it should keep in mind. You can skip this for now and add it later.

3. Start a chat

Open a new chat in the project and describe what you want in plain language — draft something, research a question, summarize a document. The assistant works alongside you, and it already has the project's context, so you don't have to re-explain your situation.

4. Keep what it produces

Nothing is thrown away when the chat ends. Your own notes, any files you upload, and the documents the assistant creates are all saved to the project and searchable later. Come back any time and pick up where you left off.
