You can forward your DNS domain to another website or landing page directly from your Unstoppable Domains account. This allows you to automatically redirect visitors who type in your domain to a different destination — such as your main website, a store page, or a for-sale listing.
Accessing Forwarding Settings
Go to My Domains.
Click on the domain you want to manage.
Under Manage, select Forwarding.
Click on Add Forwarding
If a forwarding configuration (like a For Sale Lander) already exists, you can select Delete all forwardings from the Forwarding tab before adding a new setup.
From here, you can choose one of the available forwarding types and configure your redirect destination.
Forwarding Types Available
Unstoppable Domains supports four types of forwarding:
1. 301 Permanent Redirect
A 301 redirect is used when you want to permanently forward a domain to another URL. It tells browsers and search engines that the redirect is permanent, helping preserve SEO ranking and link equity.
Enter your destination URL in the provided field.
You can also choose to apply the redirect to the www subdomain (e.g., forwarding both example.com and www.example.com).
2. 302 Temporary Redirect
A 302 redirect is used for temporary redirections — for example, when you’re testing a new website or temporarily sending traffic elsewhere. It does not pass SEO value permanently to the destination.
Enter your destination URL.
Optionally, apply the redirect to the www subdomain as well.
3. Seller Storefront
This option automatically forwards your domain to your Unstoppable Domains seller storefront, allowing visitors to view your available domains for sale.
4. For Sale Lander
This option redirects visitors to a dedicated sales landing page for that specific domain, making it easy for potential buyers to purchase it directly.
SSL Certificates for Forwarding
When you set up forwarding, Unstoppable Domains automatically generates and installs an SSL certificate for your domain.
An SSL certificate encrypts traffic between your domain and the destination site, ensuring the connection is secure (displayed as https://).
This process happens automatically and typically completes within a few minutes — no action is needed from your side.
Please note that the SSL and redirects may take 30 minutes to become active.
Important Note About DNS Changes
Enabling domain forwarding will modify your domain’s DNS records (A, AAAA, NS, and CNAME).
This will override any existing DNS records, nameservers, and redirect your domain to the specified destination.
Setting Up Forwarding Presets
You can save time by creating Forwarding Presets that automatically apply to new registrations, transfers, or marketplace purchases.
To create a forwarding preset:
Go to My Domains.
On the left sidebar, select Domain Presets.
Click Forwarding.
Select Add Forwarding Preset.
Enter a Preset Name.
Optionally toggle on:
Default for registrations & marketplace buys
Default for transfers
Choose your Forwarding Type.
If you select 301 or 302, enter the destination URL.
Optionally, apply forwarding to the www subdomain.
Press Save.
Once saved, these presets can be quickly applied to future domains, simplifying your setup process.
Example Use Cases
Use a 301 redirect to forward mybrand.com to your main website permanently.
Use a 302 redirect to test a temporary marketing page.
Use a Seller Storefront or For Sale Lander to list your domain for sale.
