How to Use Domain Presets

Domain presets let you quickly apply common settings to your domains—saving time and making domain management easier. Whether you’re setting nameservers, DNS records, forwarding rules, contact information, or customizing your UD.me landing pages, presets give you a fast, consistent way to configure everything.

Below is a breakdown of each preset type and how they work.

1. Nameserver Presets

Nameserver presets let you define the DNS servers you want your domain to use. You can:

  • Start with two nameservers and add more if needed

  • Name your preset for easy identification

  • Set it as the default for all new domain purchases

This is perfect if you’re pointing all your domains to a specific hosting provider or DNS service.

2. DNS Record Presets

Create a DNS preset when you want to pre-define records like A, AAAA, TXT, ALIAS, CNAME, or MX.

With DNS presets, you can:

  • Set up multiple record types at once

  • Give your preset a custom name

  • Choose to apply it automatically to new DNS-compatible domains

Ideal for connecting your domains to a website, email provider, or verification service quickly and consistently.

3. Forwarding Presets

Forwarding presets allow you to redirect your domains (and subdomains) to another destination. You can create forwarding rules for:

  • Permanent (301) or Temporary (302) redirects

  • Redirects to your UD.me profile

  • Redirects to a “For Sale” lander

For domain-level forwarding, there’s also a handy toggle to automatically apply the same rule to the www version of your domain.

Presets can be named for convenience, and both domain and subdomain forwarding can be managed here.

4. Contact Presets

Contact presets help you manage WHOIS contact details for ICANN-regulated domains. Each preset includes:

  • First and last name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Country

  • Street address, city, state, and zip

  • Optional: Organization name

These presets make it easy to apply consistent contact info across multiple domains during registration or updates.

5. Listings & Landers Presets

Use this preset to control how your domains appear on your UD.me pages.

Lander Type Options:

  • Seller profile – Highlight all your domains and show listed prices

  • Digital identity – Focus on your personal Web3 profile

  • Hybrid – Show seller profile for Web2 domains and digital identity for Web3

  • Disabled – Turn off the UD.me lander entirely

UD.me Content Defaults:

You can also preset default content for your UD.me profile, including:

  • Name

  • Short bio

  • Location

  • Website

These settings ensure that your domain landers and UD.me pages always reflect your brand or identity—without extra work each time.

Tips for Using Presets

  • Save time by setting your most-used configuration as the default

  • Stay consistent across all your domains

  • Easily switch between configurations depending on use case (e.g., personal vs. for sale)

Presets are fully editable and can be updated any time from your Unstoppable Domains dashboard.
