Transferring your DNS (Web2) domain into Unstoppable Domains lets you manage renewals, DNS settings, privacy, and marketplace tools all in one place. This guide walks you through the full process.
Before you begin, review the important notes below.
60-Day Transfer Lock
Registrars apply a 60-day transfer lock after:
A new domain registration (always applied)
A recent transfer (sometimes applied)
A change to Whois registrant information (sometimes applied)
If your domain is locked under this rule, you will not be able to transfer it until the lock ends. Please check with your current registrar if you are unsure.
Transfer Timeline (5–7 Days)
Domain transfers typically take 5–7 days to complete.
Most registrars allow you to manually approve the transfer through an email or dashboard, which can speed up the process dramatically.
How to Transfer Your Domain to Unstoppable Domains
Step 1: Unlock the Domain & Get the Auth Code
At your current registrar:
Unlock your domain.
Request or copy the authorization code (EPP/Auth Code).
This code is required to initiate a transfer.

Get your code at Dynadot via this guide.
Get your code at Squarespace via this guide.
Step 2: Go to the Transfer Page
Go to the transfers page by clicking here.
Step 3: Enter the Domain and Auth Code
Enter your domain(s) using the format:
domain-name.com, auth-codeYou can transfer up to 500 domains at once.
Enter each domain on a new line with its auth code.

Click Continue.
Step 4: Review Your Transfer Details
On the Review Transfer screen:
Verify the domain name and auth code.
Update or remove any domains before submitting.

Step 5: Checkboxes to Proceed
You’ll see a checkboxes labeled:
Apply Unstoppable’s Nameservers & Landers (optional)
This sets the domain to UD’s default DNS and marketplace landers after transfer.
Discounted Transfer Promotion (required)
This applies the discounted transfer promotion to your order. Ensure you read the details for full terms of the promotion.

Once ready, click Go to Cart.
Step 6: Review Your Cart Settings
In the cart, you’ll see each domain along with three service options:
Privacy Protection
Hides your personal information from public WHOIS records and reduces unwanted spam.
Auto-Renewal
Prevents your domain from expiring by automatically renewing it each year.
Self Brokerage Lander
Enables a customizable for-sale page. You can set pricing and lander options once the transfer is complete.
You can adjust these individually or use Bulk Actions to update multiple domains at once.

Step 7: Complete Your Purchase
Proceed through checkout to pay the transfer fee.
Once completed, the transfer process will begin immediately.
You may receive alerts if a domain:
Is still locked
Has an invalid auth code
Is ineligible for transfer

Your current registrar may also send an approval email that can speed up the process.
Step 8: Transfer Completion
Transfers typically finalize in 5–7 days, but can be faster if approved at the losing registrar.
Once the transfer is complete:
You will receive a confirmation email.
Your domain will appear in your My Domains dashboard.
DNS settings, forwarding, nameservers, and marketplace tools will be fully available.
