For years, the Domain Name System (DNS) has been the backbone of the internet, allowing users to navigate the web with human-readable names. Now, we're excited to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 by launching traditional domain tokenization.
What is Tokenization?
Domain tokenization is the process of creating NFT twins for DNS domains to connect them with onchain capital and financial applications.
Tokenizing your DNS domain unlocks powerful Web3 features and integrations.
Here are the key benefits:
- Connect to Web3 finance: Tokenize your DNS domain to link it with onchain capital and financial applications.
- Simplify crypto payments: Add your wallet addresses to your domain to send and receive crypto across 1,000+ partner apps — no need for long wallet strings.
- Showcase your identity: Build a UD.me profile to share personal info, wallet balances, on-chain achievements, badges, and more.
- Log in anywhere: Use your DNS domain to access 1,000+ integrations and sign in to hundreds of Web2 and Web3 apps, games, and metaverses.
- Chat with the community: Use Unstoppable Chat to message other domain owners and join exclusive groups based on your badges.
The magic of tokenization is that your DNS domain will retain all its usual Web2 functions, such as emailing and website resolution in popular browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Safari, while gaining all the incredible features of Unstoppable Web3 domains.
If your domain is detokenized, follow these steps:
Go to your My Domains page and click on the domain you wish to tokenize.
As long as the domain is detokenized, you will see the Tokenize option under List for Sale and Web3 Features. Click on the Tokenize button to start the process.

The Tokenization process can take up to 15 minutes. Once complete, your DNS domain is now capable of both Web2 and Web3 utility.
You can detokenize your domain at any time by going to the Transfer tab and click Detokenize & Unlock Domain.

Note: Unless you are transferring your domain from Unstoppable Domains to another registrar, there is generally not a reason to detokenize. If you have further questions, please email support@unstoppabledomains.com.
