Nameservers tell your browser where to look for the DNS records for your domain. By default, your domain will use our provider's nameservers.
When you register a new domain, nameservers are no longer automatically assigned by default. This means that until you add your first DNS record, your domain will not have any nameservers associated with it.
If you attempt to add custom nameservers before adding any DNS records, the change may appear to be successful, but the custom nameservers will not actually be applied.
How to Fix This
To ensure your custom nameservers are properly saved, follow these steps:
Add a DNS Record First:
Add any DNS record (for example, a TXT record) to initialize the nameserver setup.Save the Record:
Once the record is saved, your domain will now have default nameservers assigned.Add Custom Nameservers:
After the initial record is in place, you can now add your custom nameservers and they will save correctly.
If your hosting provider needs the nameservers changed to their platform you can do this by going to your my domains page and clicking on "Manage" next to your domain. Please note, nameservers ending .eu are not compatible at this time. If your nameserver ends .eu, you'll need to look into domain pointing.
Then click on "Nameservers"
And then "Custom"
You can then enter your custom nameservers. If you need more than two nameservers press "Add Another Nameserver" to add as many fields as required.
When you are ready, press "Update Nameservers"
Please note, it can take several hours for DNS changes to fully propagate through the network so don't worry if you don't see the changes reflected straight away.
Once the nameservers are changed you will need to make any changes to the domain's DNS records through your hosting/DNS provider.
If you want to move your domains nameservers back to their default, click on "Default" in the nameserver page and then click on "Revert to Default Nameservers".
Bulk update Nameservers:
To update your DNS records in bulk, go to your Domains page and filter by 'DNS' domains. Tick the Domains you wish to update and select 'Actions':
