How Do I Set Up a Wallet?

After purchasing a domain, the next step is to publish it onto the blockchain using your cryptocurrency wallet. Since our domains are NFTs (non-fungible tokens) on the Ethereum/Polygon and Zilliqa blockchains respectively, they will need to be linked to a corresponding wallet address. Please see our Applications page and use the Domain Storage and Manage Domain filters. This will show a list of supported wallets, suitable for your domains.

Please Note: Only the 'owners' wallet address will be able to sign any future updates for your domain, so we recommend keeping a backup of the recovery phrase/seed words (.crypto) or keystore.json file (.zil).

.crypto, .x, .bitcoin, .dao, .nft, .blockchain, .coin, .wallet, .888

If you decide to use MetaMask, you will need to restart your browser after installation, and you will use the Metamask option when signing domain updates.

When using a mobile wallet app, you can browse to our website using the in-app (built-in DApp) browser, you will use the Metamask option to sign. Or, if you are using our website on a computer, you will use the WalletConnect option (or Coinbase Wallet for Coinbase Wallet) and scan the QR code with your app.

.zil

When you mint a .zil domain, you will be asked to create or upload a keystore .json file and create a passphrase. This is the wallet where your domain will be sent. If you have one already, you may upload it in order to link your domains to the existing keystore.
